PIGTAILS
February 1999 Chapter Number
Director's Corner
It is time to think about some of the events planned for the up-coming season. Our first event should be our annual benefit. The date is May 16, and I know we will have another good turn out. We should start getting donations and thinking of new ideas to try to top last year. At the next monthly meeting we will vote on making The Double H Hole In The Woods our benefactor. If you pitch in, we can raise money for the ranch and have some fun. Remember, that's what our clubs all about---having fun!
Our events will be listed in the newsletter. Make sure you pick the events you want to attend and make reservations early. Tim Donbeck and some of his side kicks are planning to make a week of the Maine State Rally. If you're interested, give him a call.
Well, that's enough bull for now. Hope to see you at the next meeting. It will be at the Lake George Howard Johnson's on Rt. 9 on February 21. Breakfast at 9:30 and meeting to follow at 10:30. There may be things to do after, at the winter carnival. The board meeting will be on February 19th at McDermott's shop at 7:00.

Membership Dues Are Due!!!
I hope everyone remembers to pay their yearly $5 membership to this fine club. If Debbie Harrington hasn't received your signed release form and money by the end of February, she forbids me to mail you this great informative newsletter. Don't make me be the bad guy here and send in your membership now. This usually works with George and I hope it works with you!
H.O.G. LICENSE PLATES
Are now available. Yearly fee is $21.50 plus registration fee. Call your local DMV office for further information or click the plate below to check them out!
New Members
Please give a warm welcome to Christine McCormack and Bill Whitbeck. They attended January's monthy club meeting and were formally introduced to Don Amorosi. Believe it or not, they said they would make the next months meeting too. Does this mean Don's made a friend? Go figure!!!!
Holiday Party
The holiday party was a great hit! Thanks Elise Innet for putting it together. I think I can speak on everyone's behalf by saying that a good time was had by all. Awards were given out to Cata Tkcheff, Elise Innet, Harvey Collins, Tim Donbeck and to McDermott's Harley-Davidson, as well as the ten $25 gift certificates donated by McDermott's. There are some pretty snazzy dressers and dancers in our club and you know who you are (JG). I'm looking forward to next years party already!!
Safety Course For 1999
Every spring there's an interest in organizing a safety riding course for the up-coming riding season, and what a good idea. I don't drive a bike but I ride on the back as often as I can, and it gives me a great sense of security to know George has taken a safety course and refreshed his driving skills (for the ninth time). Boy, do I feel safe!!! Bill Whitbeck is checking into a course that may be offered at Hudson Valley. Details to follow.
The Red Knights International Fire Fighters
are looking for active fire fighters who ride. For move info, call John Rucinski at 580-1013 or Henry Harrington at 583-6160. The meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month.
The Adirondack Poker Run
It's time again to plan our club function for the year. The past years have been very beneficial to the kids at the Double H Hole In The Woods and there's a lot of fun in planning and organizing this event. Fran Donbeck is our activities chairperson this year and she will need all the support and help from all of us to make this another big hit. Come and vote at the next monthly meeting.

McDermott's Corner
All of us at McDermott's had a very nice time at the Christmas party. Hope all of you did as well. We would like to take a moment to welcome 2 new additions to the McDermott family.
First, I'm sure some of you have seen a new face in Paula's office. Please welcome Linda Falkouski. She will be assisting Paula in the various office paperwork. Second, please welcome Pete (Gimpy) Shaner. Pete has been a longtime friend and customer. He is a Harley rider and he will be on the showroom floor to assist customers with all their questions from purchasing a Harley to purchasing chrome goodies!!! It is great to have Linda and Pete with us! February is here and soon it will be riding season. I'm sure all of you are anxious as us.
Please watch for our Valentine specials during the week of February 9 - 13. Don't forget that special someone!!
Also, if you haven't seen of it or heard of it yet, any day now we will be receiving a new model from Harley--the FZR2 in arresting red!!! Stop in and ask Pete about it!!!
That's all for now. Stay healthy.
