PIGTAILS
March 1999 Chapter Number
Director's Corner
The turn out was very good for last months meeting, at the Lake George Ho Jo's. We had around fifty people, with a lot of new faces. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out for the Poker run in May. I apologize to Fran Donbeck for taking over her job as chairperson. I just got caught up in the moment. It does make it easier when a lot of people want to help out. Wayne LaMothe and Cheryl O'Keefe have put together a real nice poster we can vote on at the next meeting.
If you get a chance, check out our web site home page on the internet. Dave Guay did a real good job up-dating our page. The address is: www.amadist3.com/aha. Good Job Dave!
March 21st is the next monthly meeting at The Meeting Place on Rt. 9 in Lake George -- 9:30 breakfast and 10:30 meeting. The board meeting is March 19th at McDerrmott's shop. Hope to see all of you there and we're always open for new ideas and suggestions for the poker run.
Until then ---- be safe!

Director's Award
The 19998 director's award was given to Tim Donbeck for his large contribution to the club last year. Tim would have received this award at the holiday party in January, but he was skiing in Italy at the time (What a Guy!) so he was awarded at last months meeting. Thanks Tim for your enthusiasm and participation in the club. Keep up the good work!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU
Thank you - thank you - thank you!!!
To all the members that attended our "Surprise" 25th Wedding Anniversary party at the Elks on February 27, 1999. We thank you.
When we walked in that room and saw so many friends, we realized how truly blessed in life we are. The evening was full of good friends - good food - good drinks and great music.
To all of you who helped make this event a success, we are deeply grateful. The hard work you all did for us is truly appreciated. We will remember this day for a long time to come.
Love; Jerry and Debbie Harrington
PS. Great speech George!!
HURRY AND HEAL
Debbie Granger had back surgery just recently, but the doctor says she will be ready for the riding season if she's a good girl and does as he says. Anyone who knows Debbie knows she doesn't listen too well. Think of Maine, Deb, every time you want to do a no-no. We hope to see you up and about real soon.

Safety Course For 1999
Bill Whitbeck and Chris McCormack are organizing a safety riding course that's available at the Scotia Airforce Base. For $75 you get your money's worth. It lasts a full day, you use your bike, and you will be reimbursed $50 in HOGBUCKS. It's a great way to freshen up on your safety skills before the riding season gets here. If you're interested, give Bill a call @ 882-1593.
The Red Knights International Fire Fighters
are looking for active fire fighters who ride. For move info, call John Rucinski at 580-1013 for more details.
The Adirondack Poker Run
Can you believe it?!! It's here already. Time for planning and organizing another great worthwhile function. The club voted at last months meeting and decided to keep the Double HH Hole in the Woods Ranch our benefactor. This is a non-profit organization that supports terminally ill children. It needs funds to purchase an ambulance for the grounds. Last year we raised a good chunk of change to help buy that ambulance, but they need much more.
Fran Donbeck is the activities chairperson and she will gladly accept any ideas, donations, gifts and volunteers. Dave Guay has graciously volunteered to design our pins, Dick Murray is checking into the trophy situation, and our senior road captain, Alan Baird, is sketching out a long and short route for the ride. It's this kind of team work that will make this poker run a big smash, but we're far from over. Below is a list of items that are needed and if you can donate any item or part of an item, please call Fran at 798-8088. Our Adirondack Poker Run is very well noted for it's delicious dessert table and its useful, great prizes. This is where we all come in. If every club member, man and woman, could bake something and donate a prize, we would be in the clear. So make your director proud and get out there and solicit!!!
