PIGTAILS
September 2000 Chapter Number
DIRECTOR'S
CORNER
Did anyone see where our summer
went? Were into September and I can not remember the last time we had one this cold
and rainy. We did have a nice day at Mcdermotts run. A good turn out and good food.
As most have heard Tom was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame a few weeks back. Only a
hand full of riders receive this honor, so if you stop at the shop congratulate Tom. He
has tee shirts that he will autograph for a $5 donation and all proceeds go to the AMA
Hall of Fame Museum.
As all of us know, any time we
get on our bikes there is that risk of having a mishap. A few weeks back, on a run in
Vermont, Dave Schies had an accident that left him in the hospital. He had a broken leg,
five broken ribs and a broken bone in his shoulder. But thank God he is doing better then
his bike!! Get well soon Dave.

Welcome everyone and we hope to meet you sometime at one of our monthly meetings!
The year 2000 hasnt been so good for quite a few of us. We wish the best of luck to Barb LaMarque who just has knee surgery. The next time you see Tom McDermott, wish him well and tell him to go home and rest!! And Dave Schies is recovering at Sunny View Hospital after an accident. I cant wait to see Debbie Granger on the back of her bike again. Like the saying goes, you cant keep a good biker down!! If I forgot anyones misfortune, Im sorry. Hurry up and get well so you can ride!
Adirondack Poker Run
People in the club have expressed their opinion that maybe it would be a good idea for our yearly charity run to benefit another organization besides the Double HH
Whole in the Ranch. Some suggestions have come across the table and we need to discuss this in the near future. Theres a lot of planning involved and if we want our annual run to continue to be a huge success, we need to start planning now. At Septembers meeting, if you have any suggestions on a needy organization you feel worthwhile, please voice your opinion. We not only need names of organizations, but places to hold the event, prices, menus, etc. The Double HH Whole in the Ranch is a great worthwhile cause, but there are many more out there who desperately need financial support. The Next Monthly Meeting
Septembers meeting will be held at the Meeting Place on Rt 9 in Lake George on September 17th. Breakfast at 9:30 AM, meeting at 10:30 AM and weather permitting, a ride afterwards. Hope to see you there!! The next board meeting will be held on Friday, September 15th at 7:00 PM at McDermotts shop.
