GLENS FALLS --
Cameron "Cam" Jace Quartiers, of Glens Falls, was granted his angel
wings on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, following a lifelong illness associated with
prematurity.
Cameron was born on Feb. 16,
2009.
Cameron was a cherished treasure
to his mom and dad, Jason and Sara Quartiers, and his big sister, Schuyler Rae
of Glens Falls. Cameron will be dearly missed by his maternal grandfather, Wade
Blackman of Queensbury, his paternal grandparents, Clifford and Mary Quartiers
of Queensbury; his aunts and uncles, Kristy and Jason Hubert of Red Hook, Kellie
and Steven James of Queensbury, Jason and Meghan Blackman of Hudson Falls, as
well as his cousins, Adam Gordon, Jonathan James, Jason Patrick Blackman, Lanz
James, Troi James and Mackenzie Hubert.
He was predeceased by his
maternal grandmother, Linda Blackman, and a cousin, Trae Lindan James.
Cameron was a miracle baby to all
who knew him. He brought countless blessings to the lives of all whom he
touched.
Cameron enjoyed spending time
with his family. He liked to dance in the arms of his mom, listen as his dad
sang songs to him and loved to watch his big sister entertain him. His sister
absolutely adored spending time with her "Cam-Cam" and was so caring
and attentive to him. Cameron loved to look at his mobile, play with his
activity gym and he enjoyed being read to. His favorite book by far was Mike
Mulligan and his Steam Shovel. Some of the most special times were spent just
sitting and rocking with Cam. Grateful are those who had the privilege of
spending time with Cameron. He was a beauty and a pure miracle. His parents
considered every day with him to be a gift and they enjoyed every precious
moment with him.
Calling hours to celebrate
Cameron's life will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Carleton Funeral
Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will follow at 6
p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
The Rite of Committal will be
private.
His family would like to thank
the doctors, nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center NICU and PICU for their
loving care. They would like to also send a special thanks to Cameron's angel
nurse, Maura Balog, who was such a strong support to Cameron and his family
during every step of his journey.
We would also like to thank the
Adirondack Riders Club, whose efforts helped to ease our journey and gave us a
wonderful forum to celebrate our beautiful son. We would like to also give a
special thanks to AIMS Services of Saratoga and the Wiltsie family for working
so tirelessly to bring our boy home. The time we spent as a family at home was
most certainly the best days of our lives. Words cannot express our love and
gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests that friends attending calling hours or the service bring a children's
book which will then be given a special label in remembrance of Cameron. They
will be sent to the Albany Medical Center and given to other families in the
NICU with premature babies. In this way, Cameron's message of strength and hope
can be carried on to others who are facing a long and difficult journey.
"Cameron's Story" is a story of strength, hope and love. We hope that
his passing does not overshadow his life, and his message to us all.
