AMA MINUTES
MEETING OF MARCH 15, 2004
Chairman Kevin Becker called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
15 people were in attendance, representing 7 clubs despite the
secretary forgetting the reminder email!
Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report:
General Fund: $1123.08
Emergency Fund: $2124.07
Charity Fund: $469
The report was accepted.
Legislative Report: Larry and Prospector are still trying -
every Tuesday.
Some good news: The Handlebar height bill is out of committee
with a good chance of passing. If passed, handlebars can be
adjusted anywhere between seat and shoulder level. Another bill
from Joe Robak would eliminate all tolls for motorcycles on the
Thruway. This is still waiting for sponsorship.
Old Business:
Banquet: report sold tickets to “T” by April 8th.
Door prizes are sorely needed! Please ask people to attend
directly and sell those tickets!
Charity: We still have not chosen a charity. No one came forward
last month with new suggestions. Maggie McNally suggested an
Equine Therapy group that she will provide details on at the
next meeting. The other charity suggested is the Shriners in
Springfield, MA, but Larry Schwartz suggests we stay local. The
Roamer Charity Bowl on February 29th, 2004 earned $105 for the
Charity to which Larry Moyer and Larry Schwartz each contributed
$10 because they couldn’t attend the event.
The motorcycle exhibit at the Albany Institute is going very
well.
Prospector chatted with Christine Miles who is interested in
creating an ongoing relationship with the motorcycling
community. She would like to see more events at the Museum with
a motorcycling theme, such as a political fundraiser or street
fair. The District is looking for interested clubs to co-host
events and are hoping for a May event this year. If interested
please contact Prospector:

Spitze Memorial: Larry Moyer and Paul and Madeline Sicko are
working on the details. They have found that it will cost about
$1600 of which the District only has $455. Hopefully
Harley-Davidson will contribute money, but any other ideas or
pots of money are welcome!
New Business:
Larry Moyer reported that the woman who hit him and his wife was
indicted.
Hopefully prosecution is not far behind.
Announcements:
$34 went to the PAC, the 50/50 was $7.
Banquet: April 18th, 2004, 5 pm, Quarry Steakhouse.
Roamer Run: April 25th, 2004. Details forthcoming.
AMA District 3 Road Division meeting: Monday, April 12th,
7:30pm at the Village Diner, 1090 Troy-Schenectady Rd., Latham,
NY 12110. 518-783-6005.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
