AMA MINUTES

MEETING OF APRIL 18, 2005

Vice - Chairman Larry Moyer called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.

13 people were in attendance, representing 8 clubs.

Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted Treasurer’s Report:

General Fund: 1806.83

Emergency Fund: 2800.98

AMA Grant: 2000

The report was accepted.

Legislative Report: Larry Schwartz and Prospector reported that:

May is the time to get bills through. They are meeting with Tom Madison, the Governor’s Deputy Secretary for Transportation and he rides, so will hopefully be an ally.

-The PAC received $41 this month.

Old Business:

Banquet - raised approximately $730. A motion was made and passed to split the proceeds 50/50 between the Emergency Fund and the District. A motion was made and passed to name the banquet the “Awards Dinner for the Emergency Fund.”

Thanks to T for coordinating this year and for checking on dates for next year.

Larry Moyer also gave some awards from the Blue Knights:

Larry M also presented a check for $500 to the AMA District 3 Emergency Fund in tribute of support of the Moyer family.

The PAC raised $180 at the banquet.

Marty Herman made contacts in regards to supporting our troops. A motion was made and passed to use up to $500 of the AMA Grant money to send care packages to some local soldiers for which Marty has a list (approximately

10) along with a letter from the District signed by as many reps come to the meeting. Larry Schwartz will write the letter for approval at the next meeting.

-A motion was made and passed to make the May 21st Operation Support a Soldiers’ run a District run. If every club could support, that would be best. The secretary will send more information and reminder emails on a weekly basis.

New Business: a motion was made and passed to contribute $250 of the AMA Grant money to the Charity fund.

Good and Welfare:

-Larry M’s trial has been delayed indefinitely.

-Mike and Lisa Kuban has a girl, Ella Grace, on the day of the Banquet.

Announcements:

-Roamer Fun Run on April 24th. Registration at Spitzies on Central Ave in Albany between 10 and 12. Contact the Roamers (roamersmc@nycap.rr.com ) for more info. Cost is $15.

-the Vietnam Memorial Motorcycle Escort is from May 3rd to May 8th. Meet at Exit 5 of I81 at 11 am to escort the wall to Syracuse. So far, 15,000 bikes are participating. Contact Frank Buckman for more info.

-May 16th - the Freedom Rally - contact Prospector for details.

-Support the Troops Rally and Run, May 21st, contact John R for more info.

-AMA District 3 Road Division meeting: Monday, May 16th,  7:30pm at the Village Diner, 1090 Troy-Schenectady Rd., Latham, NY 12110. 518-783-6005.
