Report:
bill numbers have been given to the Yield Right of Way and the
Handlebar Height bill. You can now go to the Legislature’s
website and check them out.
-Larry and Prospecter are also looking into bills that have
“confiscation” as part of them so they can be quashed.
PAC - $37 this week, partly in thanks to an adjacent table that
Larry and Denis spoke to.
Old Business:
-Mike Kuban’s call to give more money to the district overall
was tabled for discussion next month. Ideas for money: Grant
funds, forthcoming newsletter income, Americade raffle, clubs to
have AMA 50/50.
-Denis reported that he handed out approximately 1800 flyers
with our calender to many out-of-state people at the Internation
Motorcycle Show in New York City, so hopefully we will see more
people at events this year.
New Business:
-Denis Petrie reported that there is a new AMA truck, which you
can check out on the AMA website, at Americade and at Laconia.
It is for the members as well as a promotional vehicle, i.e. you
can check your helmet and jacket during events.
-AMA is hoping to sponsor an event at Lake Placid during
Americade, such as a price reduction for the Bobsled run.
-Larry S suggested a “Support Our Troops” Ride as a district
event.
-Banquet: Award nominations are due by the March meeting!!! -
contact Brad Barrett with your nominations (370-3203) or send
them to the secretary to pass on to the committee.
The banquet is at Quarry’s Steakhouse on April 2nd. Cocktails at
5:30 and dinner at 6:30. Ticket price: $30. Your rep should have
tickets to sell. If you are having trouble selling tickets,
pitch the banquet as the Emergency Fund fundraiser that it is.
The ticket price breaks out to $20 for food and $10 for
fundraising.
-The trifold cards are in! They have a mistake for the date of
the Adirondack Riders’ Charity Bingo Run - it is the 7th, not
the 17th. The cards for the Road clubs have been changed.
