AMA MINUTES
DIVISION 3 ROAD DIVISION MEETING OF JUNE 20, 2005
Chairman Kevin Becker called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.
13 people were in attendance, representing 9 clubs.
Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report:
General Fund: $1371.45
Emergency Fund: $2568.88
AMA Grant: $1750
Charity Fund: $250
Monies collected for “Support our Troops” efforts: approximately
$60.
The report was accepted.
Legislative Report: Larry S and Prospector reported that the
Handle Bar Height bill has passed both housed and is at the
Governor. The Yield Right of Way bill passed the Senate and is
with the Rules committee in the Assembly.
On the Federal level - Congress has a by-partisan bill to close
the loophole in HIPAA - H.R.2793.IH, also known as the
Recreational Injury Technical Correction Act. Please contact
your congressperson to support this at

and your Senators Clinton and Schumer at
http://www.senate.gov . Both
senators have web-based contact pages which are really easy to
fill out.
Since the session is just about over, next year’s projects are a
HIPAA bill on the state level and a bill regarding confiscation
of motorcycles.
-The PAC received $536 this month, $31 from the meeting, $5 from
Americade, and $500 from District 34.
Old Business:
-Many volunteers for the AMA booth had trouble finding it due to
the last minute relocation.
-The emergency fund was used to support Rich Gorman’s family
after his death with a Nimo bill.
-Marty Herman will continue contacting “Support our Troops”
people to help use the money remaining (see Treasurer’s report
above).
