p.m.
14 people were in attendance, representing 8 clubs.

report: The Yield-Right-of-Way bill has passed the Senate only
and is now in the Assembly Rules Committee. The report was
accepted.

The report was accepted.
Legislative Report: Prospector reported on the MRF Meeting of
the Minds in Little Rock.
-Tennesseans can wear their bicycle helmet on their
motorcycle.
Some examples of unwelcome upcoming legislation in various
states: the noise issue, only building one custom bike in an
individuals’ lifetime which the after-market people are not
taking seriously; S+S manufacturer instituting a new policy for
their motors where only authorized dealers can repair them;
tiered licensing over many levels based on the engine cc’s; MSF
wanting the monopoly on teaching motorcycle safety in the US -
they have been kicked out of Arizona and Georgia and are not
used in New York, we have MANYS. Larry and Prospector will keep
an eye out for NY since the state’s position is unique, i.e. if
you haven’t taught here you can’t start. Dave Frier brought up
the issue that if curriculum was the same that was a good thing,
but one company having a monopoly on teaching that curriculum is
the problem. This particular issue was not mentioned at
Congress.
Larrry will return the recent call from Mr. Madison regarding
the sealant issue.
-The PAC received $72 this month, $36 from the Roamers’
meeting.
Old Business:
-Marty Herman has determined that some troops are returning
at the end of November and they are excited about a BBQ. Wholly
Cow is also very receptive. We are waiting for a confirmation of
their return date so planning can begin.
-AMA Congress report from Denis: Concerns were voiced about
charities by-passing the clubs and doing their own events. Some
at Congress thought it was not a problem, but were corrected by
those who had written the rules.
Unfortunately, Denis had flight delays before he arrived and
missed some meetings and he along with 7 others were robbed of
their briefcases at the hotel during the meeting. Denis is
following up with AMA and local police about the robbery.
If you would like more info about Congress activities please
contact Denis directly. Mark Catlin also attended, so hopefully
he will have a report at the next meeting.
