AMA MINUTESDISTRICT 3 ROAD DIVISION MEETING OF
APRIL 17, 2006
Chairman Mark Catlin called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
19 people were in attendance, representing 12 clubs.
Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report:
General Fund: $1561.96
Emergency Fund: $2268.88
AMA Grant: $750
Charity Fund: $250
Monies for "Support our Troops" efforts: $63.
The report was accepted.
Legislative Report:
-The Yield-Right-of-Way bill was rewritten to separate the
surcharges from the rest of the bill and it is now in the
Transportation Committee and headed to the Rules Committee soon.
A version of the bill is also in the Senate.
-The Confiscation bill now has over 20 co-sponsors in the
Assembly, including the Majority leader. Prospector and Larry
are working on sponsors in the Senate.
Larry and Prospector have about 6 weeks left of the season.
-The PAC received $27 from the Roamers.
Old Business:
-Banquet: The banquet is on April 22nd at 5pm.
-Patches: The patches are being made, but will not be ready
for the banquet, but should be done by the Roamer Run on the
30th. They will cost between $5-6. T-shirts will be available at
the banquet and will cost $12 for XL and
$13 for XXL-XXXL.
-John R. reported on the Vietnam Wall escort. The wall will
be in Schenentaha Park in Malta. The escort will meet at the
Crossgates exit near the Northway at 12 PM on Wednesday, June

-Mike K made a motion that was voted and approved that the
Road division pay
1/3 of the cost for the trifold cards. This 1/3 will be
passed out during Americade, a Road event.
New Business:
-Americade booth? If we want to host a booth, we will need
volunteers to man it. Please contact your club to find
interested people. If we do not have enough volunteers we will
not have a booth. Denis P. will contact Americade about possible
placement of a booth.
-Denis P. asked if the Irish Riders could move their run to
Saturday, August 12th and the move was approved.
-
AM-JAM tickets are now available
-Mark C reported that the Tri-City Valley Cats, the AAA
affiliate for the Houston Astros, are hosting a Motorcycle night
on Tuesday, August 1st. They would like clubs to come out and
have their bikes on display during the game to promote a
positive image of motorcycling. A group rate of $4.50 will apply
for groups over 25 people and $5 otherwise.
-John C gave us an update of what the website can do for
your club for free:
-The AMA Dist 3 website has much to offer and with the
support of BikerParties.com you can put your club website
on-line at no charge.
-Make sure to get your events and contact information listed
on the Dist #3 website and make sure it is correct any
corrections or additions needed can be sent via the contact form

-The AMA Dist # 3 has an e-mail list @:

that all can use. Make sure all your members register at the
site for this e-mail list. Then when you have an announcement

-John C noted that Johnny’s Motorcycle in Nassau would be
very willing to be a stop on a club run. Contact John for more

-Larry M. noted that AMA national is promoting Nationwide for
insurance and he gave a positive review.
Announcements:
-The Roamers’ Fun Run kicks off the riding season on April
30th. Please join the club in celebration of their 60th

-ABATE is holding the annual Freedom Rally on Monday, May
15th. Camping at the Wholly Cow the weekend before. Please

-A Support the Troops Rally will be held on May 20th at Gavin
Park in Wilton from 12-5pm. Contact Cliff Sequin at 587-8010 for
more info.
-AMA District 3 Road Division meeting: Monday, May 15th,
7:30pm at the Halfmoon Diner (corner of Rt 9 and Grooms Rd/Exit
8A off the Northway).
