AMA DISTRICT 3 SANCTION MEETING

DECEMBER 2, 2006

Meeting called to order at 11:00 am by Larry Schwartz, AMA District 3 President.

The Risk Managment session went from 11:00-12:30 pm and was run by Stephani McIntyre from AMA.

Notes from AMA: Keep copies of all the paperwork you send to AMA. Please send all papers to AMA via Certified mail with return receipt requested!

The following delegates to Congress were nominated, voted and approved:

Off Road Congress Delegate in emeritus: Jim Simmons - thank you for your 20 years of service!

Off Road Congress Delegate: Jim Simmons

his alternate: Randy Shaw

Road Congress Delegate: Mark Catlin

his alternate: Maggie McNally

all positions are 2 year terms and start in 2006.

The next Congress is October 4-6, 2007 at the Marriott Columbus Airport Hotel, OH

Larry Schwartz, President then called the Overall District meeting to order at 1:00 pm.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted.

The treasurer’s report was read and accepted. Copies of the treasurer’s report are available from Mike Kuban (amabykr@gmail.com).

Legislative report:

-If you have a legislative issue, please contact Larry Schwartz or Bob "Prospector" Boellner and they can help you get sponsors for your bill and get the process going.

-The PAC received $279 including checks from clubs.

Old Business:

None.

New Business:

A new study of motorcycle crashes is underway with $2.8 million funding from the government. However, the study needs matching funds of $2.8 million from the motorcycling community. National AMA has started the process with their "Fuel the Fund" campaign and have contributed $100,000 so far. Check out page 20 of the January 2007 Magazine for more info. Sarah S made a motion that District 3 contribute $1000 and it was approved.

-Larry S made a motion that the Secretary receive a $150 stipend as the Treasurer does. This motion was approved.

-Mike Kuban offered District shirts and patches for sale - they have the District 3 logo. Please contact him to purchase.

-Election of Officers: The following officers were nominated, voted and

approved:

President: Larry Schwartz

Vice-President: Bob Boellner

Secretary: Sarah Stevens

Treasurer: Mike Kuban

Legislative Officers: Larry Schwartz and Bob Boellner

Referee: Martin Hermann

-Banquet 2007! The Emergency Fund Fundraising Banquet is March 31st, 2007 at Quarry Steakhouse in Climax, NY; tickets are $30. Larry S would much appreciate some award nominations and of course, door prizes will be much appreciated. Send award nominations to Larry directly and bring a door prize with you to the banquet!

-Trifold schedule for inclusion: Information for the trifolds will be given to the secretary by the January meeting (15th) and Road Division dues will be paid by February 1st. The secretary will provide a proof via email for reps to review before the printing.

Announcements:

-The Roamers are hosting a bus trip to NYC to see the International Bike Show on Saturday, Jan 20th, 2007. Contact Pat Schlamowitz directly at roamepat@aol.com -Mark C announced the Tattoo Expo in Syracuse on Jan 19-21st, 2007. Call him for more info (518-466-0200).

-The Roamers are also hosting a charity bowl on February 18th, 2007. Contact Brad Barrett for more info (518-370-3203).

-ABATE’s Freedom Rally is May 21, 2007 in Albany, NY. Contact Prospector at 518-239-4560 for more details.

-Irish Riders will be hosting a District Tour this year. Contact Maggie M for more info (irishriders@yahoo.com).
