AMA MINUTESDISTRICT 3 ROAD DIVISION MEETING
OF APRIL 16, 2007
Chairman Mark Catlin called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m.
11 people were in attendance, representing 7 clubs.
Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted with one strike in
the Good and Welfare section.
Treasurer’s Report (via phone):
General fund $1497.96
Emergency fund $2996.00
AMA Grant $650.00
Charity fund $63.00
Special money for a gift award at the banquet: $50.
Little money was made at the Banquet and additional funds of
$50 were contributed from the Blue Knights iPod raffle.
Legislative Report: Larry M reported that Senator Young is
sponsoring a bill to allow bikes to go through a red light after
stopping if the bike cannot trip the pavement/light sensor.

The PAC collected $54 at the meeting with Albany/Schenectady
HOG bringing
$115 and the Roamers bringing $32.
Old Business:
-Banquet 2007 was not as well attended as previous years, but
fun was had by all. We’ll need to do better with advertising and
enticing people to attend.

From the AMA:
Legislator of the Year: Donna Lupardo
Safety Award: Tom Harper, Albany
Schenectady HOG Couple of the Year: Steven and Judy Letus,
Woodstock HOG Motorcyclist of the Year: Bob "Prospector"
Boellner, ABATE Most Valuable Person: Larry Moyer, Blue Knights
-We will need volunteers to man the AMA truck at Americade in
June - 4 people at all times to take memberships, chat up the
district, etc. Please contact Denis Petrie directly if you are
interested.
New Business:
Supporting other clubs in the district was much discussed.
Please have your club make an effort to connect with others in
the district by attending organized events as well as other
lower key events. Check the AMA website and call Mary at
National to send info on your club event to clubs in District 3
and 34 as well as those in Massachusetts and Vermont who border
NY.
A motion was made and voted to approve sending Joe Vanags
$250 from the emergency fund when he needs it.
Good and Welfare: Joe Vanags of the Roamers was diagnosed
with terminal cancer.
Announcements:
-The Roamers are hosting a charity run to benefit a local
child with bone
cancer on April 29th. Start at Spitzie’s H-D on Central Ave.
