AMA MINUTES and AMA DISTRICT 3 SANCTION MEETING

DISTRICT 3 ROAD DIVISION MEETING OF December 1, 2007

Chairman Mark Catlin called the meeting to order at 9:58 a.m.

22 people were in attendance, representing 11 clubs that is everybody!

Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted.

Treasurer’s Report:

General Fund $1397.96

Emergency Fund $2996.00

AMA grant $650.00

Safety award $50.00

Charity $63.00

Legislative Report:

Prospector reported that the confiscation bill was not passed but will be re-introduced by Donna Lapardo.

The PAC collected $50 from the Blue Knights and $230 from the Adirondack Riders at the meeting.

Old Business:

-Mark C send an email to AMA national re one of the Field Reps, but has not received a response.

-Road riding has been changed to Recreational riding on the AMA forms.

-News of the Oct 7th roadblock on Rt 84 is slow to accumulate; many are trying to find out how and why this happened, much is rumor at this point. The official line is that it was done in response to the increase in motorcyclist fatalities. So, expect continued road-blocks, especially when events are on as this roadblock coincided with the Marcus Dairy Super Sunday in Danbury, CT and Rt 84 is the main road to get there. There is not much we can do at this point since these roadblocks are legal. This makes the confiscation bill that much more important to get passed.

-Emergency Fund Banquet 2008 a motion was made and accepted that the banquet be at the American Legion Zaloga Post on Everett Rd and that tickets would be $25 each. All are invited to attend. Please bring a door prize or two and get your award nominations to Larry S by February 1st or write them up yourself.

New Business:

-Larry M made a motion that a Blue Knight member (Phil Sayers) be given Emergency fund money ($250) as he has been sent home from hospice. This motion was voted and accepted. A further motion was made to waive the need for a specific bill to pay and this motion was voted and accepted.

-Officer elections were held; the following were voted in unopposed:

Chairman: Mark Catlin

Vice-chairman: Larry Moyer

Treasurer: Mark Mendrysa

Secretary: Sarah Stevens

Referee: Marty Herman

Legislative Officer: Bob "Prospector" Boellner Congress Delegate: Denis Petrie (pending overall meeting) Congress Delegate Alternative: Althea Frier (pending overall meeting)

-a motion was made and approved for the Road division to pay their annual fees (share of last year and this year’s trifold card printing charges, charter fee).

-Paul Cote came to introduce himself and ask for our vote for the AMA board.
