DISTRICT 3 ROAD DIVISION MEETING OF FEBRUARY 19, 2007

Chairman Mark Catlin called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.

11 people were in attendance, representing 9 clubs.

Secretary’s Report: was read and accepted.

Treasurer’s Report:

General fund        $1532.96

Emergency fund   $2953.00

AMA Grant          $650.00

Charity fund        $313.00

Special money for a gift award at the banquet: $50.

Legislative Report (via phone): Bob ‘Prospector’ Boellner reported that he has been attending on Tuesdays and filing reports with ABATE, although not much is happening. The reports can be found on the ABATE website:

www.abateny.org.

Albany/Schenectady HOG contributed $100 to the PAC and $47 was collected at the meeting.

Old Business:

-Banquet 2007 is March 31st. We need door prizes! We need award nominations

- please contact Larry S. directly.

Sarah has tickets for club reps and John C posted the flyer on the website:

-We will need volunteers to man the AMA truck at Americade in June - 4 people at all times to take memberships, chat up the district, etc. Please contact Denis Petrie directly if you are interested.

A motion was made and passed to contribute $100 from the Charity Fund to support the troops via a Silly String Program donation. Later in the meeting another motion was made and passed to contribute an additional $150 - $250 in total.

New Business:

A motion was made and passed to contribute $250 from the General Fund toward the new crash study. These funds will help support the study by matching funds given by the Federal govt. See the January issue of the AMA magazine on page 20 for more info or the AMA website.

The Irish Riders are looking for additional stops for their District Run by the March meeting. Please contact Maggie or Denis if you have an idea.

An article on the situation with MSF suing an Oregon group who came up with a motorcycle safety course of their own generated discussion on the situation in New York. MANYS has a contract with the state to do safety courses, so MSF is not running safety classes in New York. The MANYS contract will expire in about 4 years.

Good and Welfare: Gary Lezotte of the Blue Knights suffered a bad fall and is at St. Mary’s recovering. The secretary will send a get well card.

Announcements:

-The Irish Riders invite all to ride with them in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Albany on March 17th. Contact Maggie McNally for more info
