I had a great time exploring the Assembly and Senate websites, looking at bills and figuring out who my Assemblyperson and Senator were (and no, I didn’t remember from November - it’s been a long five months). The assembly website is: http://assembly.state.ny.us  and the Senate website is http://senate.state.ny.us . You can find the bills by number and search for your assembly people by zip code, so you don’t have to figure out which district you’re in.
There are bills to support and an important one to kill. I’ve listed them all below. You can usually contact the assembly people via email through their own websites by finding their contact info link. Please try to have at least two or three club members write letters/email/call in.

To support the Yield Right of Way bill (S3410, A4914) and the Handle Bar Height bill (S2768, A787), write a letter to your Assembly person and Senator as well as the bills’ sponsor, Senator Joseph Robach. Sen Robach’s address is: 902 LOB, Albany, NY 12247, phone: 518-455-2909. Include the bill numbers when you write.

To support the Helmet bill, write a letter to your Assembly person and Senator as well as the bill sponsor, Senator Michael Nozzolio. Sen Nozzolio’s address is: Rm 409 LOB, Albany, NY 12247, phone: 518-455-2366.
Include the bill number when you write.

To kill the muffler fine bill (S649), write a letter to your Assembly person and Senator as well as the bill sponsors, Senator Carl Marcellino and Senator Patricia McGee. Sen. Marcellino’s address is: Rm 812, LOB, Albany, NY 12247, phone: 455-2390 and Sen McGee’s address is Rm 814, LOB, Albany, NY 12247, phone: 518-455-3563. Include the bill number when you write.

Letters can be very short, i.e.
As a motorcyclist and member of x club, I thank you for your support of bill x.
or
As a motorcyclist and member of x club, I am strongly opposed to bill x.
Please do not support it.
