April 1999 Chapter Number
Director's Corner
It was great to see a good turn out at our last meeting. The room was small, but we made it work. Fran has a good start on this years fund raiser. This type of event is going to take a lot of volunteers to make it a success. Some have already volunteered and I am sure more will follow as we get closer. We have only one fund raiser a year, so we do need a little help from each of our members. If you have any doubts about giving up your time, just think of the kids we'll be helping.
It's time to think of getting your bike ready for the season. If you're like me, you have covered all the current bike magazines looking for that part that will give us something to talk about when we're all standing around with the guys gazing at our beautiful machines.
Well, that's enough for now. Just remember, if you get an early start on riding, watch that sand in the roadways. Drive safe and see you at Jack's Place in Corinth on April 18th @ 9:30am.

McDermott's Corner
Spring is here, are you ready? We are gearing up for it. We have hired a new mechanic. Please welcome to the McDerrmott gang, Gary Chretien. Next time you're in the shop, peek out back and say 'hi'.
Please say Happy Birthday to the boss man, Tom McDerrmott on April 8th. He's turning another year younger!!!
Just a friendly reminder to check those inspection stickers before Americade. As you know, we are unable to do inspections during that time. Thank you for your understanding on this.
Rid safe and be HAPPY!

Please accept my apology for last month's late newsletters. We tried to save the club a little money by mailing a different way, but as you can tell, it didn't work out to well. Mailing by bulk isn't the way to go for us and I promise I won't do it again.

Welcome everyone and have fun!!!
The Adirondack Poker Run
Here we go again, the time's creeping up on us. Sunday, May 16th is the date to mark on your calendars. Rain or shine, it's gonna happen, so don't miss it. Our road captains have been busy planning short and long routes, so keep your fingers crossed for sunny weather like we've had in the past.
Cheryl O'Keefe and Wayne LaMothe did an excellent job plotting the poster that are enclosed with everyone's newsletter. Thanks Cheryl and Wayne for a great job. These will be great to show around when you're asking for donations.
Prizes and donations are rolling in already, but we need more. Each year we have a great turn out and raise a lot of money for the kids at the Hole in the Woods Ranch, but it's because of our team work and dedication. It always pays off. If everyone will bake a little something and donate a prize, we're sure to be a big hit once again.
Fran Donbeck is our activities chairperson this year and she needs a few more volunteers and food items for our menu. There are a lot of new faces in our club this year and it would be great to see you there sharing in the fun and activities. The menu at this year's poker run includes:
hamburgers and hot dogs
potato salad
cole slaw
baked beans
potato chips
lemonade
iced tea
+ Our Infamous Desserts
If you feel generous and would like to donate, call Fran @ 798-8088. Pre-registration is going on now for only $12 per person. Send payment to Debbie Harrington or call her @ 793-7564. Early payment is always appreciated and helpful.
FREE ADVERTISMENT
At last month's meeting, the club voted to buy a bulletin board and post it at McDerrmott's shop. Anyone can write in a ride to keep everyone informed of what's going on. What a great way to communicate!
Debbie Harrington went shopping already (we know how she loves to shop!) and it's on the shop wall as we speak (or read). Check it out when you make your weekly stop at McDerrmott's and keep informed.

NEW YORK STATE RALLY
The Plattsburg chapter is looking for volunteers to help out with the rally in July. If you plan on attending and wouldn't mind supporting our local chapter, contact George Polunci @ 793-3684. As of now, there are two events that need help. One for judging the "light contest" and one to help out at casino night. If you know anything about gambling, put your talent to use.
50 - 50 WINNER
At last month's meeting was John Borlang. He won $33 and donated it to the poker run. Thanks John, you're a great guy!
AMA
Time's running out to buy tickets for the annual award dinner. April 17th is the date and Climax, NY is the place to be. It's only $25 a ticket and what a great time. The food's great and plenty of it, great prizes and give-aways, and entertainment afterwards. Contact Wayne LaMothe (584-8432) for tickets by April 12th. It all takes place at the Quarry Steakhouse and it's easy to find. Just take exit 21B off the thruway, left onto Rt. 9W, right to Rt. 81 and the resturant's to your right.
