June 1999 Chapter Number
DIRECTOR'S CORNER
Fellow Hogs:
I hope everybody had a good time at the poker run this year. I want to thank everybody that put in all the hard work that made it such a success. It sure makes the directors job a lot easier, when so many people pitch in and do what is needed to make it run so smooth. The amount donated is $7,500 and the final amount given to the Ranch is $6,900. (That's Great!!!)
So our fund raiser is behind us and we have a long riding season ahead. It is now time to put a list of rides you plan on making, post them on the board at McDermotts so others can join in. That's the best way to meet new people and have a great time. Remember, our club is all about riding safe and having fun.

MCDERMOTT'S CORNER
Hi everyone!!!

CHECK OUT THE BLACK TOP
Have you been to McDermott's shop lately to check out the new addition? What a beautiful sight (all Harley shops are).
It's black top heaven!! While you're at the shop, please notice the "activity board". Use this board to keep others informed of upcoming rides or events.
MOVING ON UP
For those who didn't know, Spitizies moved. It's new location is on Rt 5, near Taft's Furniture. Go check it out--it's beautiful (but then all Harley shops are!!)
SAFETY DRIVING COURSE
There has not been a good response to the safety course scheduled for June 27 at the Scratton Air Force Base. Bill Whitbeck is anxious to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming a better rider. The 1999 riding season is here and what a better way to brush up on our riding skills for little cost. $75 will buy you a brain full of knowledge and you'll receive $50 back in HOG Bucks. What a bargain!! Call Bill at 882-1593 and he'll set you up.
FOR SALE
Ladies black leather chaps, in good condition, size XL for only $40. If interested, call Elise Innet at 587-0079.
Anyone owning a Harley Davidson Barbie #1 and would like to trade for a HD Barbie #2, call Barb Jones at 695-4413 and leave a message.
ADIRONDACK POKER RUN
I think I can speak on everyone's behalf by saying "Wow!!" What a picture perfect day. The kids must be really proud of us! The turnout was spectacular and everyone had a good time (at least I did). The door prizes were over-whelming and the dessert table was awesome. The food was delicious and the homemade salads were the hit on the table. Thanks Harrington's and Donbeck's for your hard work and dedication. The only complaint I have is that I was hoarse from yelling "get your 50-50 tickets, raffle tickets," but I don't think George minded the silence around our house for two days. And for the record, I let Joannie Dowling bet me selling 50-50 tickets because my voice got
soar. Next year Joannie, I'll give you a run for your money.
Congratulations to Carol Morrison for winning $318 from the 50-50. The kids weren't the only winners that day.
We should all be very proud of ourselves for doing such a good job in making this fund raiser a big hit. Remembering that it's all for the kids makes it all worthwhile.

AMA
The PA helmet law didn't make it. Hopefully next year it will have better luck.
AMA license plates may be available
by July 1. Speaking of license plates, the HOG plates are out and looking good.
The charity fund raised $660 for North East Parent and Child.

The Next Monthly Meeting
Once again, the June meeting falls on Father's Day, and what a nice way to celebrate but to go to an early meeting and be treated to a nice breakfast. It's scheduled for 9:00 AM breakfast at the Adirondack Grill and Lounge (formally known as the Grand Prix) off Exit 11 and meeting at 10:00 AM. The food is great and the prices are fair. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we'll see many riding in on their bikes.
